Print Methods
+ letterpress
Letterpress printing is the oldest kind of printing there is. We turn your artwork into a hard plastic plate, much like a hard rubber stamp. The plate is placed into a letterpress machine’s press bed, and it is reinked before each impression, with the printer often hand placing each piece of paper before it is printed. Letterpress printing bites into the paper, leaving a deep impression with ink.
+ foiling
Foil printing is similar to letterpress, except that instead of a plastic plate, a metal plate is created. The press uses heat to transfer foil onto each piece of paper one at a time.
+ engraving
Engraving is a beautiful form of printing in which a metal plate is engraved with your artwork. Ink is poured into the cavities of the metal plate, and under intense pressure is applied to the paper. The ink is raised on top of the paper, as opposed to letterpress’s deboss effect.

If you’re a fan of calligraphy or want something more personal than one of our stock fonts, our calligraphers can pen part of or your entire invitation suite.
Finishing
+ edge painting
A subtle but powerful detail, edge painting adds a pop of color to the sides of your invitation.
+ beveling
A beveled edge on an invitation, particularly when paired with edge painting, adds a beautiful touch of elegance.
+ die cutting
We can cut your invitation into one of our stock shapes or create a custom shape for you.
+ guest addressing
Chaucer Road believes that the envelope is just as important as the actual invitation! To make your envelopes as beautiful as they can possibly be, we offer guest addressing. Clients can choose between digitally printed addresses or calligraphed addresses.
+ envelope liners
Our most popular customization, and for good reason! Envelope liners are an opportunity to really personalize your suite to make it completely yours.
+ postage curation
Although we love the American Flag Forever Stamps, they usually clash with a custom design. Chaucer Road can curate postage to perfectly compliment any suite!
Texture & Dimension
+ ribbon and fabric
Be it silk, grosgrain, velvet, or something else, Chaucer Road often incorporates ribbons or fabrics into its suites.
+ wax seals
An old world element in the 21st century--we use wax seals in endless ways to continue to incorporate your brand into your project.
+ vellum
Sometimes printed on, sometimes as is, vellum adds a softness to any suite.
